Demetrio Yocum鈥檚 research focuses on Medieval and Renaissance Italian literature with particular interest in theology and monasticism. He received his聽Laurea/B.A. from the University of Naples 鈥淟鈥橭rientale鈥 and his doctorate from La Sapienza University of Rome.

He coordinates the聽Opera del vocabolario italiano聽Program at Notre Dame, and performs a range of editorial tasks for the Devers Series in Dante and Medieval Italian Literature.

He also contributes entries to聽CALMA听补苍诲听MEL聽(SISMEL, Florence). He is the author of聽Petrarch鈥檚 Humanist Writing and Carthusian Monasticism. The Secret Language of the Self聽(Brepols, 2013), and co-editor of聽At the Heart of the Liturgy聽(Liturgical Press, 2014). He has translated works by Luigi Santucci (1918-99), and his most recent translations include:聽For a Missionary Reform of the Church (Paulist Press, 2017), and聽Mary of Magdala: Revisiting the Sources聽(Paulist Press, 2019).
