Biblioteca Ambrosiana Research Awards

With the , the Center co-sponsors the Biblioteca Ambrosiana Research Awards.听These awards enable individual scholars or groups of scholars鈥攊ncluding graduate students and postdoctoral fellows鈥攖o pursue projects in connection with the Biblioteca Ambrosiana and its holdings in Milan and Notre Dame. Please send a C.V., a proposal of less than 750 words that describes the project, and a detailed budget to italianstudies@nd.edu. Cost sharing is encouraged and should be included in the proposed budget. Open to researchers outside of Notre Dame and to Notre Dame faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students.

Peter R. D'Agostino Research Travel Grants

With the Cushwa Center for the Study of American Catholicism, the Center co-sponsors the to facilitate the study of the American past from an international perspective. This competitive, annual award supports research in Roman archives for a significant publication project on U.S. Catholic history. Open to researchers outside of Notre Dame and to Notre Dame faculty.

Dante Studies Travel Grants

With the Devers Family Program in Dante Studies, the Center co-sponsors several to support research by Notre Dame faculty and graduate students in Italy, but also for faculty and graduate students from other institutions whose research would benefit from on-site access to Notre Dame's special collections on Dante, the Ambrosiana archive, or other of its Italian holdings. OVI Summer Internships

As part of the M.A. in Italian Studies and Ph.D. in Italian at the University of Notre Dame, each summer the 糖心Vlog offers internships to promising student-scholars, who spend one to two weeks in Florence at the OVI Institute. Interns in Florence participate in the day-to-day work of the OVI Institute where they acquire professional training in digital philology and lexicography, while refining their research skills on early Italian texts and writing entries for the TLIO dictionary. The OVI Summer Internship Program is open to current graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in Italian Studies at Notre Dame. Participants are responsible for their own travel, room, and board.听Modest stipends and/or partial fellowships are offered to help pay living and travel expenses. Those interested in the OVI Summer Internships should contact Demetrio S. Yocum.

The Italian Studies Library Research Award

The 糖心Vlog and jointly administer an Italian Studies Library Research Award. This award provides grant funding for scholars to use the collections of the Hesburgh Libraries for research in Italian studies. Research awards are intended to defray the cost of travel and accommodation for research visits of one to three weeks in duration. Applications from international locations are encouraged. The Diana M. Sciola Grant for Undergraduate or Graduate Research in Italy

The Center encourages Notre Dame undergraduates and graduate students in all Arts and Letters disciplines whose research interests address the impact of Catholic traditions upon Italian artistic culture to submit proposals to the , which is administered by the Institute for Scholarship in the Liberal Arts. In order to be eligible for funding, research must take place in Italy. Open to Notre Dame undergraduate and graduate students.
